Amendments to VKDĮ requirements

The Emission Standards for Medium Combustion Plants, approved by Order No. D1-778 of the Minister of Environment dated 2017-09-21 ‘On the Approval of Emission Standards for Medium Combustion Plants’ (hereinafter, VKDĮ (medium combustion plants)), have been amended.

The frequency of VKDĮ inspections is no longer classified by the type of fuel used and is determined solely according to the capacity of the VKDĮ.

Annex 1 has been recast; however, it is important to note that the applicable limit values have not changed. The terminology has been clarified: ‘rated thermal input’ has been replaced by ‘nominal thermal input’. Wording has also been refined: ‘5 MW or more’ has been replaced by the more precise legal formulation ‘more than 5 MW’; ‘solid woody biomass’ or ‘solid wood’ has been simplified and replaced by ‘woody biomass’.
