Changes to waste management requirements

From 2026-07-01, the Rules on Waste Generation and Management Record-Keeping and Reporting, approved by Order No. D1-367 of the Minister of Environment dated 2011-05-03 ‘On the Approval of the Rules on Waste Generation and Management Record-Keeping and Reporting’, cease to have effect.

From 2026-07-01, a recast version of the order approving the Waste Management Rules enters into force, although the Rules themselves are not recast. The Rules were approved by Order No. 217 of the Minister of Environment dated 1999-07-14 ‘On the Approval of the Waste Management Rules’ (hereinafter, the Rules). Relevant information concerning GPAIS (Unified Product, Packaging and Waste Record-Keeping Information System) accounting functions has been transferred to the Rules from the repealed Rules on Waste Generation and Management Record-Keeping and Reporting. Chapter VII of the Rules has been amended, a new Chapter XIV, ‘Waste Generation and Waste Management Record-Keeping’, has been inserted, and the existing Chapter XIV becomes Chapter XIV1.
