1. The technological regulation for waste utilization or disposal is mandatory for all companies that utilize or dispose of waste (e.g., incineration, recycling, storage, landfill disposal, etc.).
The regulation is necessary if the company carries out activities that meet at least one of the following conditions:
2. Waste treatment, storage, or disposal exceeds the quantities established in legal acts.
3. The company uses hazardous waste or carries out hazardous waste management.
1. Before starting to operate a new waste management facility or activity.
2. When changing an existing activity or facility in such a way that the nature or extent of waste management may change (e.g., increasing capacity, changing technology, starting to use new waste or raw materials).
3. When the company begins to meet new or changed criteria (e.g., increasing the amount of waste, installing a new facility, etc.).
1. A technological regulation for waste utilization and (or) disposal is prepared and approved by the company manager.
2. The regulation becomes an integral part of the permit (e.g., an annex to the Pollution Permit or IPPC Permit).
3. The regulation establishes specific conditions:
3.1 What waste and what quantity of it can be used or disposed of.
3.2 Technologies, equipment, control and monitoring measures used.
3.3 Waste storage, acceptance, control, packaging, fire safety and other requirements.
3.4 Material balance, waste generated, materials emitted.
4. The regulation is periodically reviewed and updated (e.g., when activities, legislation or monitoring data change).
